Mr Maiyaki Muhammed-Baba, on Tuesday assumed duty as the new Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa State Command.
This is contained in a statement signed by DSP Ramhan Nansel, the command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), in Lafia.
The police spokesman said that the new CP took over from Mr Adesina Soyemi, who got promoted to rank of Assistant Inspector -General of Police (AIG), and deployed to take charged of Zone 4 of the police formation.
Nansel said that the new Commissioner of Police had proven track record in investigation, operations and administration in the force.
He said Mohammed-Baba,  born on Oct. 24, 1963, hails from Bida, Niger State and was enlisted into the force on October 24, 1990.
The command’s spokesman also said that the new CP holds a Bachelor of Science degree in International Studies from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and a post graduate diploma in Strategic Studies from University of Calabar.
“The CP served as Divisional Police Officer in Lagos, FCT and Ogun States, Officer in charge of monitoring unit, zone 2 and 5, Lagos and Edo States respectively.
“He was a one time 2i/c, Zonal State Criminal Investigation Department, Zone 6, Calabar, Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of State Criminal and Investigation Department, Gusau, Zamfara and Assistant Commissioner of Police, Department of Operations in Anambra State.
“Until his promotion and deployment to Nasarawa State, he was the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Finance and Administration, Kebbi State,” he added. (NAN)
