The Edo State Youth Parliament Speaker, Rt. Hon. Prince Fawaz Muhammad has urged the Nigerian youths to sheath their swords and embrace alternative means of resolving the nation’s economic crisis.
He also urged them to develop their creative minds and exude the spirit of resilience that they are known for in order to build a prosperous country, saying that the future of the country lies squarely on their shoulders.
He gave the task during the inauguration of the second assembly of the Edo State Youth Parliament at the state house of assembly in Benin City.
Hon. Muhammad said that the youths have the potentials of changing the narratives of the country by developing the right attitude and fostering peace in our respective areas.
Speaking as the newly elected Speaker, of the youth parliament, he said he is going to ensure that the interest of the youths are adequately represented just as he said it is going to be an inclusive one.
“Together, we have the opportunity to shape the future of Edo State, ensuring that the voices of our youth are not only heard but are instrumental in driving meaningful progress.
“As we embark on this journey, I pledge to serve with integrity, transparency, and dedication. I will prioritize the interests of our youth, advocating for policies that promote education, employment, and empowerment.
“Our agenda will be guided by the principles of inclusivity, innovation, and sustainability. We must harness the energy and creativity of our youth to build a state that is resilient, prosperous, and just.
“This requires not only bold ideas but also a willingness to listen, learn, and adapt.
“I am committed to fostering a parliament that is open, participatory, and accountable.
“We will engage with our constituents, ensuring that their concerns and aspirations are reflected in our deliberations and actions.
“Together, we can create a legacy of progress that future generations will be proud of”, Muhammad said.
