Ahead of the May 29 inauguration ceremony, President Muhammadu Buhari has set up a committee headed by the Secretary to the Government of Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha.
The committee, will be inaugurated today.
Buhari, who won his re-election bid on February 23, is expected to commence his last lap in office from May 29.
In a related development, Buhari has approved the appointment of Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, as the chairman of a committee saddled with the responsibility of auditing the policies, programmes and projects inherited and those initiated and executed by the incumbent administration.
The Permanent Secretary, General Services Office, Olusegun Adekunle, in a statement titled “Constitution of the Inter-ministerial Presidential Inauguration Committee,” listed other members of the committee to include the Ministers Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, Interior, Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazzau, Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyema, FCT, Mohammed Bello and the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Adams Oshiomhole.
Others are Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan Ali, Health, Isaac Adewole, Education, Adamu Adamu, and Minister of State (Aviation), Hadi Sirika.
Also in the committee are acting Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, Director General of Department for State Service (DSS), Yusuf Magaji Bichi, Commander, Brigade of Guards, Permanent Secretary (State House), Permanent Secretary (General Services Office) and Permanent Secretary (Political & Economic Affairs Office) – Member/Secretary.
The Osinbajo-led committee, which would be inaugurated tomorrow, has the following terms of reference, “to audit and determine the status of implementation of policies, programmes and projects either inherited or commenced by the Buhari-led administration.
“To identify and highlight a residue of works and challenges that may militate against their successful implementation and prepare and produce a detailed working document that would guide the incoming cabinet members on the direction of government regarding policies, programmes and projects, among other responsibilities.”
