It started operations in December 2013 and was among sponsors of Africa Fashion Week Nigeria 2015. According to her, the firm sponsored the fashion show because “we love to promote what we stand for. We love our rich cultural heritage. We have come to participate in the Africa Fashion Week London (AFWL) because of our love for nature. To talk about love for what we stand for and we intend to promote it to the international community to let them know that there is something amazing in West Africa.” She also talked about her favourites at the AFWL 2015.
What’s your favourite colour?
I love red. I really love bright colours. I just like red because of the red rose. When I was much younger, I used to love red roses. So, my love for red was motivated by the red rose.
Favourite food?
I love breadfruit. It’s called Ukwa in Igbo language. I like it slightly prepared with bitter leaf and dry fish. It’s fantastic.
Favourite holiday spot?
Of course, Inagbe Grand Resort is my favourite holiday spot. It’s very neat and clean, away from the hustling and bustling of people. When I wake up in the morning at the resort, I feel very refreshed without having a massage at the Spa. I’m already refreshed by the cool and clean breeze. Everything at Inagbe is locally made and almost 100 percent of the materials we used to develop the resort is sourced locally, from the coconut wood to raffia, aso oke for the furniture, marbles, tiles and everything.
Favourite weather?
I like it humid. Not very cold. I can’t stand cold weather. I love the Nigerian weather. I’m here because I can’t stand the cold.
Favourite sport?
I love cycling and that’s what I do. Right from age 3, as I grew, I changed my bicycle. I have always had a bicycle. It’s become part of me.
Favourite leader?
I love Margaret Thatcher. A lot of people call me Margaret Thatcher because I imbibed a little bit of her virtues and that’s what people tell me and I like her because she was a powerful lady. She was very principled and had a good carriage and was authoritative. Margaret Thatcher was my role model.
Favourite book
I love stories and I’m not really sure which one is my favourite now. I like Chimamanda Adichie’s Half of a Yellow Sun. It’s very inspiring and very interesting.
