Luck has run out of a tricycle operator based in Nkpor, Anambra State, Sunday Nnachi. The indigene of Ofeseni in Edda Local Government Area of Ebonyi State was caught with a stolen red tricycle popularly known as keke, with registration number: Anambra NZM 981 QP. 

Men of by men of the Edda Command of Ebonyi State Neighbourhood Watch Intercepted him on July 2, 2023 at the Oso Edda/Okigwe Highway as he made for his village.

According to the Neighbourhood Watch Commander in Edda LGA, Nnachi in his confession said that his action was a retaliation over his missing tricycle. He claimed that he intentionally made away with the tricycle belonging to one Anthony Ebuka, his neighbour at Ama-Affor Nkpor in Anambra State, as payback for his stolen keke.

Nnachi accused his landlord at Nkpor of masterminding the stealing of his tricycle, saying that it was in a bid to cushion the effect of the loss that he stealthily brought Ebuka’s tricycle to Ebonyi State before he was intercepted by the guards close to his home: “Just within a short period after I arrived Anambra, my landlord arranged some men who stole my keke. The people had wanted to kill me but later inflicted injuries on my head. Surprisingly, when the attack was going on, my landlord’s mother was hailing my assailants.

“Having found myself in such helpless situation, I decided to retaliate by stealing Anthony’s keke hoping that I would bring it home to relax but unluckily to me, I was caught close to my town.”

Nnachi further disclosed that before his sudden disappearance with the keke, he had inflicted serious machete cut injuries on his landlord when the man engaged him in a fight. He added that he broke his landlord’s head too as a payback over his head that the man had earlier broken: “After that incident, the man went and invited some members of vigilante group of the area who blocked my phone diabolically that I could neither make calls nor receive from someone and after I had sensed that the people were planning to kill me in such a way that both my mother and other relatives will not know, I decided to run for my dear life.”
