A male adult has been recovered dead from the scene of Sunday’s collapse of a building under construction in the Idi-Araba, Mushin area of Lagos State.

Spokesman of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Amodu Shakiru disclosed this Sunday night.

“Unfortunately, one adult male has been recovered dead,” Shakiru told Daily Sun.

Earlier, the Director of the service, Margaret Adeseye disclosed that the building under construction at the one-storey level suddenly collapsed at 96 Ishaga Road, opposite Idi Araba Central Mosque, Mushin, Lagos.

She said the distress call was received at approximately 15:30 hours.

“Responding agencies included the Isolo Fire Station of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps, the Lagos State Ambulance Service, and the Nigeria Police.

“Three adults male gas been rescued alive with varying degrees of injury.

“They were attended to at the scene before being transferred to the hospital for further treatment by the Lagos State Ambulance Service.

“Search and rescue operations are still ongoing.

“The cause of the emergency is currently under investigation,” Adeseye said.
