AKano State High Court, presided by Justice Zuwaira Yusuf, has sentenced one Mr. Paul to 104 years in prison for the abduction of several underage children from their biological parents in Kano State for onward trafficking to Anambra State.

The sentence passed after the convict had pleaded guilty to a 36-count charge, is to run consecutively and without an option of fine.

Saturday Sun learnt that the suspect was sentenced alongside six other persons, namely Mercy Paul, Ebere Ogbona, Emmanuel Igwe, Louise Duru, Monica Oracha and Chinese Ifedigwe.

Mercy Paul, the wife of Paul, was sentenced to 55 years imprisonment; Ebere Ogbona to 41 years, Emmanuel Igwe to nine years, Louise Duru to six years, Monica Oracha to five years, and Chinelo Ifedigwe to nine years imprisonment.

Similarly, their sentences are to run consecutively, and without an option of a fine.

They were convicted for conspiring, concealment, abatement, abduction and kidnapping contrary to various provisions of the law.

According to the prosecution, the convicts committed the various offences between 2014 and 2015.
