The Paramount Ruler of the Tiv nation, Orcivirigh Prof James Ayatse has advised the Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic Wanune, in Benue State, to think outside the box to ensure the institution competes with other world-class polytechnics.
The Tor Tiv, who stated this on Monday in his palace in Gboko while receiving the governing council and management team of school on a courtesy visit, disclosed that Polytechnic education is sometimes more impactful than the university due to the technical and skills acquisition training it gives to students who later become strategic to the society.
He implored the management team to improve on its standards assuring them of his determination to mount pressure on all relevant authorities to supply the needed structures and desired personnel for it to grow.
Earlier, Chairman Governing Council and Management of Federal Polytechnic, Wanune, Chief Mike Msuaan intimated the Tor Tiv of their recent appointments saying they were in the palace to submit themselves to receive royal blessings and wise counsel from him who the described as a seasoned university administrator.
Chief Msuaan stated further that for the governing council and management team were seeking partnership and collaboration with the traditional institution to achieve its desired goals.
While appreciating the Tor Tiv for his warm reception, Dr Ndas Mohammad, the Polytechnic Registrar promised on behalf of the Polytechnic to abide by the wonderful words of wisdom from the Royal father of the Tiv nation.
The delegation included the Rector of Federal Polytechnic Wanune Dr Tyover Ashinya among others.
