Ahead of the Edo State chapter of Labour Party (LP) governorship primary on Friday in Benin, an aspirant of the party, Tom Iseghohi, warned yesterday that he would not accept anybody to attempt to cheat or rig him out in the election.
Speaking during an interactive session with journalists, he said his running for the governorship was a personal sacrifice he chose to make to help develop the state, adding that given its abundant natural resources, there is no reason for anybody in Edo State to be or insecure.
“The reason I running for the governor is that we have a great country that is being mismanaged, we have a great state with tremendous resources that have being misapplied as a result of that, five million people are suffering”, Iseghohi said.
He said he has the qualifications, experience the local and international contacts and global capability to attract foreign capital, just as he assured that he has the clout to win the election.
“Am a homeboy, I speak my language very well. Am grounded in Nigeria, I know how Nigeria works”, Iseghohi said, adding “if money is the issue in the election, no one will outspend me”.
He stressed that it would be immoral of him not to run when he has the capability and wherewithal to run and help the state yet refuse to do so.
