Group Managing Director, Lizstep Nigeria, Lagos, Otunba Longe Olakunle, and others were recently conferred with honorary doctorate degrees by an American university and also a fellowship of a UK institute.

At the colourful award ceremony held at a hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos, Otunba Longe bagged double honours, doctorate degree and fellowship.

About 14 persons were conferred with honorary doctorate degrees, more than 35 other bagged fellowship awards, while over 80 were inducted as members of the institute.

The Eminence University Colorado, USA, decorated Longe, an experienced marketing guru, management consultant in engineering field and sales with doctorate degree (honorius causa) in Business Administration and Management.

He was also honoured by the International recognized Institute of Leadership, Management and Manpower Development, UK, with a “Distinguish Fellowship” award for his contribution to society, engineering, marketing profession, political positions he has occupied in the country.

The glamorous ceremony attracted the creme de-la-creme of the society and was graced by representatives of the Eminence University Colorado Faculty for Africa.

In his address, the Registrar/Dean of Membership Registration, Dr. Theophilus Cornerstone Okonofua spoke about change and chance agents in a developing economy.

Longe graduated from the University of Ilorin and obtained postgraduate degrees from the University of Lagos (MSc, MILD and MBA).

His citation stated that Otunba Longe was a former Special Assistant to Minister of Industry and held senior positions in some companies where he made his marks.

The citation also revealed that Longe mentored several young entrepreneurs and professionals, who are currently sitting as CEO, directors and senior managers in their establishment and contributing back to the society.
