Minister of State, Petroleum Resources, Heineken Lopkobiri, has waded into the lingering face-off between Dangote Refinery promoters and International Oil Companies (IOCs) with an advice to all the parties to let the dove of peace fly.
He stressed the need for cooperation to ensure the oil and gas sector’s success, which is vital for Nigeria’s economic growth and energy security.
In attendance at the meeting were: Aliko Dangote, Chairman and CEO of Dangote Group, – Farouk Ahmed, Authority Chief Executive of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), – Gbenga Komolafe, CEO of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), – Mele Kyari, Group CEO of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPC).
The attendees lauded the Minister for his leadership and intervention. The meeting focused on finding a sustainable solution to the refinery’s challenges, with all parties committed to collaborative problem-solving.
The meeting marks a pivotal step towards resolving the refinery’s issues and underscores the Minister’s commitment to creating a supportive environment for Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
