Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA) and QNET, a global direct selling company, have reaffirmed their commitment to consumer protection and sustainable practices.
At an event hosted by LASCOPA in commemoration of World Consumer Rights Day 2025, Tuesday in Lagos, Theodocia Nana Quartey, Head of Compliance for QNET, in her formal address reiterated QNET’s commitment to ethical business practices and consumer empowerment, aligning with this year’s theme, “A Just Transition to Sustainable Lifestyle.”
She spoke of the QNET’s recent Stevie Awards, recognizing the company’s efforts in environmental sustainability, corporate social responsibility, and product innovation. “The accolades, presented at the Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards, honor the QNET Green Legacy Programme, its fight against plastic pollution through the VeryNile partnership, and Bernhard H. Mayer’s OMNI Watch, a luxury timepiece crafted with sustainable materials.”
Quartey highlighted the company’s proactive measures to safeguard consumers and promote ethical business conduct, emphasizing QNET’s dedication to consumer well-being. “At QNET, our products and the company itself are very interested in the well-being of its consumers. Any opportunity to partner with the Consumer Protection Agency to send the word out there is always welcomed.”
Addressing concerns about consumer protection in the face of proliferating services and products, she expressed confidence in the satisfaction of QNET’s customers, including herself. She outlined the company’s strategy to combat counterfeit products and deceptive practices through education and awareness campaigns. “Education is key,” she asserted, stressing the importance of empowering consumers to identify genuine products and services. “QNET has recently launched several initiatives to educate the public, including the “Say No” campaign, aimed at combating job scams and fraudulent activities.” Quartey clarified that QNET is a product-based company, and the only legitimate way to earn from the company is through promoting its products and earning commissions. The “QNET Against Scams” campaign, rolled out across Ghana, Senegal, and Burkina Faso, further reinforces the company’s commitment to consumer protection.
On QNET’s presence in Nigeria, she described the company’s acceptance as “awesome,” acknowledging the positive reception from corporate Nigeria and government agencies just as sheqq called for collaboration among businesses, regulators, and consumers to create a sustainable future built on trust, education, and ethical practices.
Also speaking at the event, Afolabi Solebo, General Manager of LASCOPA, stated that the theme, “A Just Transition to Sustainable Lifestyles,” was chosen to address the pressing environmental, economic, and social challenges facing the world. LASCOPA, under Governor Sanwoolu’s leadership, has consistently strived to align its policies, programs, and initiatives with the evolving needs of consumers, fostering a sustainable and just marketplace.
“As the world grapples with environmental, economic, and social challenges, it is imperative that we, as consumers and stakeholders, actively participate in shaping a sustainable future, one that upholds fairness, accessibility, and inclusivity,” Solebo emphasized.
LASCOPA reiterated its commitment to consumer empowerment, equitable access to resources, and responsible consumption, aligning with the global call for sustainable practices. The event featured discussions and activities aimed at driving meaningful actions in support of consumers world wide.
