A renowned Auctioneer and Estate Valuer, Ikenna Lansar Aghaji, has expressed optimism on the ailing state of the nation’s economy, assuring that the current devastating hardship will turn around for positive change with time.

Lansar, who is the Principal Partner of Lansar Aghaji & Co. a firm of Estate Surveyors, Valuers & Auctioneers, gave the assurance after he received the Auctioneering Company of the year 2024 award bestowed on him by Certified Institute oF Auctioneers Nigeria (CIAN)

Lansar earned the award due to the large number of high profile Auctions handled in 2024.

Speaking at the event held at the International Conference Centre in Abuja, Lansar said in the face of the current economic situation in the country, “We hope things get better with time.”

He however, emphasized that the economy is more favourable to the auction industry, who according to him involved disposing off of assets of the businesses folding up due to the prevailing hardship.

According to him, “The Auction industry is facing the same thing other industries are facing economically, though as businesses folds up, it’s a boost to the Auctioneer, an example is liquidation of Heritage Bank assets, which he also handled some of their asset disposals.

Lansar, who also handled auction sales for Canada High Commission, EFCC, ICPC, AMCON, NDIC, UNICEF, UNESCO among others, noted that auctioneering helps with easy and quick disposal of items at most times reasonable prices

On the award, he said, It’s a thing of joy that all our efforts in our Auctioneering career has been crowned with this great achievement. It shows that we are really making effort and people are seeing it.

Lansar, promised to play the leadership role in the area of mentorship of upcoming Auctioneers under his bragging rights till December 2025.

He bagged the award award after coming together of his colleagues in the sector, who after thorough assessment of Auctioneers in 2024, chose Lansar Aghaji & Co as their trail blazer company for 2024.
