Traditional rulers in Orile Agege and Dopemu communities in Lagos State have appealed to the Federal Government and the National Assembly to merge the Awori people in Lagos and Ogun states for the creation of Awori State.

Speaking to journalists on behalf of other traditional rulers, Alhaji Shuaib Ajani Afogunlowo explained that the people of Awori in the two states were demanding a state like their counterparts in Ibadan and Ijebu in South West.

“We also have criteria to stand as a state since we have enough resources to become a state like some states in the North.”

He charged the Awori to come together as a formidable team in order to champion the course with unwavering commitment.
