The Oniba of Iba kingdom in Iba Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Lagos State, Oba Adeshina Sulaimon Raji has described as malicious and malignant the reports circulating online that he’s aiding cultism and criminality in his domain.
In a statement released by the palace over the weekend, the monarch expressed his grievances against a trending report on a social media platform alleging that he was a backer of a notorious cultist in his domain.
On Sunday February 12, a post went viral through a clowned Facebook page alleging that the Iba monarch was aiding one man named “Sholee” who is said to be a leader of a cult group disturbing the peace of the Iba community and its environs.
However, Oba Raji declared that the trending report was false as it was a vicious statement of cruelty targeted at degrading his image and personality known for zero tolerance for criminality and chaos let alone aiding a criminal around him.
The statement reads: “My attention has been drawn to a malicious, malignant and a vicious statement of cruelty targeted at degrading my image and personality. I am a king with high integrity and has zero tolerance for bad behaviour, especially crime. I am in no way connected to the individual mentioned in the Facebook post. I am sure that post is the handwork of some mischief-makers and success haters who are only good at brewing tensions and downgrading fellow humans.”
According to the monarch, his hatred for criminality has geared his initiative to improve security in his domain through the provision of logistics to various security agencies including vehicles to track criminals. He said he also singlehandedly built a Magistrate Court in Iba community, which he handed over to the state government.
Oba Raji called on the Department of State Security, State Police Command and other relevant security agencies to immediately look into the allegation and bring such perpetrators to book.
