As aspirants jostle for elections into the Local Governments in Lagos State, one of the chairmanship aspirants for the Eti-Osa, John Ademola Akano of the Labour Party (LP) has declared himself the best for the post.

Akano, while outlining his plans for infrastructural development, inclusive governance, and community-driven leadership, said under his policy formulation, 3Ps—”People, Purpose, and Progress”, he is coming to restore infrastructure, serve my people, and ensure steady progress.”

He stated that his candidacy is focused on tangible improvements in essential infrastructure, particularly in flood-prone communities like Agungi.

“I am here to bring every infrastructure back to speed—the roads, drainage, and essential services,” he said, pledging urgent attention to issues that have long plagued Eti-Osa residents.

Running alongside Akano is vice-chairman candidate, Zainab Ayomide Ajobi, who expressed confidence in the joint ticket.

“I am not just privileged but genuinely happy to serve alongside Hon. John Akano. He is a goal-getter who truly has the interest of our people at heart,” Ajobi said. “When we win this election, you will all be proud of what we can achieve together.”

Akano also promised greater inclusion of women in governance. “Women play a pivotal role in society—not just because of their gender but because of their wisdom, support, and understanding. They will be vital in my government,” he stated.

In Eti-Osa, residents are reacting with both optimism and cautious expectation. “Can he really fix our roads and stop flooding? We need tangible results,” said Mr. Adewale, a local business owner. Mrs. Folake, a community leader, said, “It’s time we see women playing more active roles in governance here.”

Responding to the concerns, Akano assured the public of his administration’s commitment to delivery. “We will work tirelessly to bring rapid positive change and make Eti-Osa a model of progress and development,” he declared.
