…75,981 votes canceled in Oshodi Isolo, Surulere over violence

The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Muhammadu Buhari, won in 15 local government areas of Lagos State, while his opponent, Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), won in five.
The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Abeokuta, Prof. Felix Kolawole Salako, who is the Chief Collation Officer, supervised the announcement, of results by collation officers at the collation centre at the Independent and National Electoral Commission (INEC) headquarters in Yaba, Lagos.
The results showed that the Minister of Works, Power and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, lost his Surulere LGA to Atiku, while former Minister of Defence, Musliu Obanikoro lost his Eti-osa LGA
The Chief Collation Officer, Prof. Salako, announced that the total votes cast in the election was 1,156, 590, valid votes were 1,089,567 and rejected votes were 6,7023.
Out of the total votes cast, Buhari polled 580,825 votes, while Abubakar got 448,015, giving a margin of 132,798 between them.
President Buhari was subsequently declared the winner of the election in Lagos State, having met all the requirements of the Electoral Act.
