Lagos was agog recently as celebrities, fashionistas and society big wigs graced the Dexterity 1.0 exhibition organised by Africa’s No.1 footwear brand, Zeinny Crafts.
With the theme: ‘Creativity in Action’, the fashion fair, which held at Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos on Saturday, September 10, 2022, attracted top personalities including the Vice Chancellor of University of Lagos, Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe; Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Bola Oboh; Director of Entrepreneurship, UNILAG, Prof. Sunday Adebisi; lawyer/show host, Nymah Akashat Zibiri; BBNaija star, Jaypaul aka Mr. Flamez, and actor Rotimi Salami among others.
According to the CEO of Zeinny Crafts, Zanaib Alayande, the motivation behind Dexterity 1.0 was to project and change the narrative of the Nigerian leather fashion industry. “We also wanted to project the Zeinny Crafts’ brand on an international level. Like Gucci, Versace and Chanel, Zeinny Crafts is also here to stay globally,” she stressed.
A major highlight of the exhibition was the launch of Zeinny’s new collections that included Zeinny Asiko, Subr by Zeinny and Zeinny Rumble. Other exhibited items were clothes, shoes, bags, waist-pouches/straps, belts, foods and beauty products.
Alayande, who believes that there is no limit to what one can achieve, is keen on equipping the youths, making them assets to the nation. “If you can dream it, you can achieve it,” she said while counseling the youths. “Do not wait for people’s validation before you go after your dream, that’s why it is your dream and not others.”
But after Dexterity 1.0, what’s next for the talented, hijab-wearing lady? Her response: “Currently, our team has kick-started plans on Dexterity 1.1 which is going to be on skills acquisition and brand building. We want to grow and also create road path for others to grow.”
