Kwara State Police Command has arrested 16 suspected armed robbers and kidnappers. Commissioner of Police, Adekimi Ojo, said: “We are waging war against the criminals, especially kidnappers and armed robbers. I have visited black spots where hoodlums always operate.
“We redeployed tactical team operatives and they arrested the suspects. There have been constant raids of the hideouts of the criminals. Some are already relocating out of the state. We have charged them to court while other suspects are still under investigation.
“Kwara is safe and peaceful today. It is a joint operation with the Army and other sister security agencies. We have flushed out hoodlums and still going after other criminals. Operatives arrested 10 suspected armed robbers terrorising Offa axis.
“Police Tactical Team arrested some suspected cult members of Eiye Confraternity involved in armed robbery and cult clashes. SCID detectives arrested some suspects for murder and rape. They have been charged to court.
“Our officers are on constant patrol. We remain resolute in our mission to protect lives and properties; and maintain law and order in the state. We urged citizens to report suspicious activities and furnish police with useful information to enable us flush hoodlums out of the state.”
