The Governor of Nasarawa State and Chairman of the North Central Governors’ Forum, Abdullahi A Sule, has expressed profound sorrow over the tragic loss of over 100 wedding guests in a boat accident that occurred in the Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State.

A press release signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr Ibrahim Adra, said Governor Sule, deeply shaken by the incident, conveyed his condolences on behalf of the North Central Governors and the people of the region to the Government and citizens of Kwara State, as well as the bereaved families.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with our colleague, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, and the people of Kwara State during this challenging period,” Governor Sule stated.

He further extended his heartfelt sympathies, praying that God would grant eternal rest to the departed souls and grant their grieving families the strength to bear this immense loss.

He further explained that the boat tragedy which occurred during a time of joyous celebration, has left the nation in shock. Governor Sule’s expression of grief highlights the solidarity among the North Central Governors and their commitment to supporting the affected state.
