A group, G9 Kogi East Political Restoration Movement (KEPRM) has expressed the determination to work tirelessly for the victory of the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Muritala Yakubu Ajaka in the forthcoming governorship election in Kogi State.
G9 is a political movement that comprises of all the sons and daughters of Igala Kingdom, supporting the SDP candidate who they believe can liberate Kogi State from the shackles of maladministration.
A statement from media office of the group, it said the decision to work for Ajaka was reached at its Congress presided over by the National President of G9, Mr. Adah Friday.
According to the statement, “The G9 Kogi East Political Restoration Movement, once again revealed its determination and resolve to work for the victory of Kogi SDP governorship Candidate, Alhaji Muritala Yakubu Ajaka, in the 11/11/2023 Kogi governorship election.
“This decision was made known by the president of the organisation, Comrade Friday Adah, during G9 Congress meeting held on October, 4th 2023, at the residence of the DG Campaign Organisation of Muri/Sam, Alhaji Sheikh Ibrahim, in Anyigba, Dekina local government area of Kogi State.
“Our National President, Mr. Friday made a passionate appeals to DG, Muri/Sam Campaign Organization, Alhaji Sheikh Ibrahim, to remember G9 members after the victory of Alhaji Muritala Yakubu Ajaka by the grace of God, in terms of employment, and other political appointments.
“G9 is however, a political movement that replicate the Igala Mela, and it comprises of all the sons and daughters of Igala Kingdom. Therefore, the 9 LGAs in Kogi East, were represented at the Congress by their coordinators.
“The decision for this movement, was born out of the intention of the group to support any candidate who is for the liberation of Kogi State, from the shackles of maladministration of the current government, in the State.
“And in our assessment of the various candidates for the forthcoming Kogi governorship election, Alhaji Muritala Yakubu Ajaka, has scored 99%. And this made him to stand tall among his contemporaries. Muri has successfully won the hearts of the entire people in the State. Hence, he deserves the supports of G9”.
In response, the DG Kogi East Youths, Muri/Sam Campaign Organisation, Alhaji Ahmed Attah, advised G9 group to intensify efforts in their resolve and supports for Muritala’s candidature.
Attach And further commended the efforts of G9 so far, in Muri/Sam Movement, especially during the recent familiarisation tours in Kogi East.
Also, the DG New Media for Muri/Sam Campaign Organisation, Hon. Isaiah.D. Ijele commended the G9 for the steadfastness and consistency in their activities for the victory of MuriSam, comes 11/11/2023.
Hon. Ijele also pledged his support for the group, and further sensitised the group members to ensure victory is achieved for Ajaka, right from their various polling units.
The DG Campaign Organisation for Muri/Sam, Alhaji Sheikh Ibrahim, expressed satisfaction for the consistency and readiness of G9 political movement, for the victory of Ajaka comes 11/11 in the State.
He said this, based on his observation of G9’s previous political activities by making sure, the grassroots are well informed against any financial inducement and security threat by any party agents at the polls, which may deter and discourage the electorates from voting the candidate of their choices.
Sheikh Ibrahim pledged his support for the group, and told the group leader to always letting him know of any possible challenges in the course of the group’s lawful activities for the victory of Alhaji Muritala Yakubu Ajaka.
