The Kogi State government has provided details on recent security operations in Mopamuro, Kabba/Bunu, Ijumu, and Lokoja Local Government Areas. The operations, conducted by a combined team of security agencies, targeted criminal elements threatening the state’s peace.

Security forces engaged bandits in intense gunfire, disrupting their activities. “The camps of the bandits suffered heavy casualties,” the statement noted, commending the bravery of security personnel.

However, the government expressed sorrow over the loss of two operatives, stating, “We are deeply saddened to report that in the course of this operation, we lost two courageous operatives who paid the ultimate price in defense of our people and our state.” Condolences were extended to their families, with assurances that their sacrifices will be remembered.

The government also acknowledged injured operatives, ensuring they receive comprehensive medical care. “We also commend the resilience of other operatives who sustained injuries in the line of duty,” the statement said.
