From Sylvanus Viashima, Jalingo

Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State is committed to transparent employment into the state civil service, especially provision of gainful employment for the youth in the state, according to the state government.

Special Adviser on Media and Digital Communication to the governor, Emmanuel Bello, made the disclosure in Jalingo, the state capital, when he responded to the alleged exclusion of over 7, 000 workers from the payroll of the state after a recent screening exercise.

“Gov Kefas is committed to transparent employment into the state civil service. It is free employment that will touch everyone, not just those who can pay or have connections.

“But, first, all ghost workers must be properly dealt with. Governor Kefas is also carefully watching the act of replacing old ghost workers with new ghost workers. His eagle eyes are watching and the sanitation exercise is on. Accountability and transparency is the new spirit,” Bello said.

He urged those genuinely affected by the recent biometric exercise to be patient as the governor has directed urgent measures to ameliorate their challenges, while ensuring that the aim of the exercise is also not defeated.
