Kebbi State Governor, Dr Nasir Idris has assured the Corps Members serving in Kebbi that his administration would review their State government allowances.
The Governor made this known while presiding over the Swearing-in Ceremony of the 2024 Batch B Stream II Corps Members deployed to serve in Kebbi State at permanent Orientation camp, Dakingari in Suru Local Government of Kebbi State.
Idris, represented by the Commissioner for Sports and Youths Development, Comrade Nura Bala Fingila, while welcoming them to the State , congratulating them on their official induction into the NYSC, stressed that he will ensure that the State Government allowance for Corps Members serving in the State will be reviewed to be at per with other States and in line with current trends.
He said the gesture is in appreciation of the Scheme’s relevance in the State which is glaring.
Idris who commended the enormous contributions of the Corps Members in promoting National unity, integration and socio – economic development of Nigeria, assured the NYSC that his administration has heard their concerns, needs and will ensure that they are given due consideration.
Governor, told the Corps members that “the state is peaceful, and security, welfare and general well-being of the Corps Members are top priority to the State Government”.
He donated 2 big bulls and a cash sum to augment Orientation Camp feeding.
Earlier in her address, the NYSC Kebbi State Coordinator, Mrs Okolo Agatha Banki, explained that the purpose of the Orientation Course is to equip Corps Members with the practical social and Leadership skills that will enable them face the challenges of the service year ahead.
Banki disclosed that the Orientation Course is a combination of Kebbi and Zamfara State Corps Members,with a total number of 1494 Corps Members have been duly registered as at midnight ,29th August, 2024 ,comprises 1,108: Kebbi and 386 :Zamfara Corps Members.
The Coordinator thanked His Excellency for supporting the NYSC in the actuallization of its aims and objectives in the State.
