The Kebbi State Commissioner of Police, Mr Bello M. Sani, has presented cheques worth a total of N5,847,268.50 to four families of deceased police officers who died in the line of duty.

Mr Sani, who presented the cheques to the affected families, said the gesture was in accordance with the directive of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.

According to him, “It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the Police Headquarters, Birnin Kebbi, to witness the presentation of IGP Group Life Assurance Scheme cheques amounting to the sum of N5,847,268.50 to the families of four deceased police officers, who died in the active service of our fatherland.”

“The IGP’s kind gesture and magnanimity is not compensation for the lives of the officers lost, but [it is] aimed at supporting their families as well as boosting the morale of the serving ones to do more in fighting crimes in the state.”

“At this juncture, I want to advise you to judiciously utilise the token in pursuing your academic careers and other financial needs.”
