Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has noted that his track records in the state culminated in the large turnout of voters at yesterday’s local government election across the 21 councils and 225 wards in the state.

Idris, who voted at Nagari Science Government College at about 11:12 along with his family, explained that his administration has also provided enabling environment for the election to take place and participation of other political parties without any problem.

His words: “Like I said the other times, our government has provided an enabling environment for all parties. You can testify to this now when you visited this polling unit. You have seen things by yourselves. There is orderliness and people came out en masse, male and female to cast their votes. This is the second election conducted since I became governor. Since I was elected, we have held inconclusive election in Arewa/Dandi Federal Constituency and Shanga/Yauri Federal Constituency.

“With Almighty God on our side, we were able to win all the elections and insha Allahu, by God grace, if track records would speak, I know the people of Kebbi State will come out and vote for our great party, APC. And by God grace, all our candidates will win in this election.”

While speaking on local government autonomy, Idris said the Kebbi State Government has already abided by the decision of the Supreme Court judgment.

He said: “The local government autonomy has come to stay and I don’t have any issues as far as local government autonomy is concerned.

“We have been working harmoniously with our local government and when you visited these Councils, you can see many projects going on and executed by the local government councils. You can see the presence of government in all the councils.
