Kebbi State Governor Dr Nasir Idris has flag off the distribution of N2.3 billion bags of fertilizer procured by the state government to farmers free of charge.

Idris, who flag off the distribution exercise at Kardi town, Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area of the State, warned LGAs Chairmen and other political appointees against corruption, indiscipline and insubordination in office.

While addressing farmers, LGAs Chairmen at the occasion, Governor Idris said: “We have procured these fertilizers for distribution to the farmers free of charge. We procured these fertilizers with the tone of about N2.3 billion which be distributed to all farmers.

“And everybody knows that this is right time to start distribution of these farmers. And we would continue as a Government to create enabling environment to our farmers to go back to farms.”

Idris,who disclosed that many farmers in the southern part of the state have gone back to farms after government’s intervention in collaborations with security agencies,said,his administration would provide security to all people of the state within its resources.

“I am happy to inform the people of Kebbi State that our farmers in the southern part who were displaced have gone back to farms. We have provided enough security for our people who have left their towns and villages because of insecurity. They can now sleep with their two eyes closed.”

Governor Idris insisted that no government would fold it arms watching her people, citizens being displaced as a result of insecurity.

“No responsible government will fold it’s arms and be watching it’s people leaving their domains because of lack of security. It is part of our obligation as the government to make sure that we satisfy our people with security and other essential amenities.”

He disclosed that his administration is determined to complete the state secretariat within shortest time stressed that, contract for the construction of roads in state capital would be award as parts of measures to turn Birnin Kebbi to befitting state capital like it counterparts across the country.

While warning LGAs chairmen and political appointees against corruption, Idris said,the state are blessed with hundred of thousands of talented citizens whom they could replaced with if they were found wanting.

“I want to call on Local Government Chairmen that this administration means business. We are not going to condole indiscipline, corruption and insubordination. We are blessed with experienced people that could be fit for any position

“There are hundreds of thousands of people that could be appointed into any position. If we found out anybody is not fit to be in any position,you shall shown a way out.”
