The wife of Kebbi State Governor, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris, has urged Muslims to intensify more efforts in searching for knowledge in all fields especially on religious education to ensure decent society.
Hajiya Zainab stated this while speaking at the graduation ceremony of students of Madrasatul Darul Ma’aruf, behind Nagari College, Birnin Kebbi.
She requested well-to-do Muslims to institute educational programmes and establish schools to impart knowledge to both children and adults in the quest for a decent society and beneficial livelihood.
Press Secretary to Governor’s wife, Hajiya Khadija Saidu confirmed this in a statement made available to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi.
According to her, “the Governor’s wife affirmed commitment to sustain her support to the Islamic school, established 18 years ago, to continue with academic activities in the training of adult males and females as well as children to memorize the Glorious Qur’an and the study of other aspects of Islam.
“She announced that the graduands have been taught skill acquisition that would make it possible to use the plain bed sheets distributed to them as gift for profitable venture.
“Hajiya Zainab Nasare solicited for fervent prayers from the people for the success of the administration of her husband, Governor Nasir Idris and sound victory in the final litigation at the Supreme Court.”
In an address, the Head of the school, Hajiya Zahariyya Muhammad Guruza, according to the statement, was quoted to have thanked the wife of the Governor for providing necessary requirements to the Madrasatul Darul Ma’aruf that enabled it to function effectively.
‘She described Hajiya Zainab Nasare as highly religiously inclined personality with compassion and benevolence, adding that the governor’s wife has been acknowledged as a free giver who distributes gifts at will especially during the month of Ramadan”.
Saidu added that total number of 180 students graduated from the Islamic school comprising 120 females, children and adults, as well as 60 males.
