The Kebbi state government has expressed its condolences and sympathies to the Borno state Government on the death of the Hon Commissioner of Reconstruction, Rahabilitation and Resettlement Engineer Ibrahim Idris Garba.
The Commissioner was reported to have died in his sleep yesterday night.
Kebbi State Government,in a statement of condolence signed by the Kebbi state Commissioner of Information and Culture Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed Birnin Kebbi, conveyed the prayers of the Governor of Kebbi state Dr Nasir Idris over the unfortunate loss of the Borno state Commissioner and prayed for the repose of his soul.
According to him, ” of recent,you can recall the demise of three notable elders of Borno state – all of them within a week, although the losses were regrettable, the government and people of Borno state should see them as the wish of the Almighty Allah and the inevitable end of all mortals.
“The loss of the Commissioner at this critical time when his services are needed, will be very painful more so when his expertise and patriotism have began to manifest in the few weeks that he had been at the helm of efforts to bring more succor to persons displaced by insurgency and banditry”.
Governor Idris urged his friend and brother, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum to be comforted by the achievements recorded by the late Commissioner in his short brief, as well as the realization that the journey to freedom from all vestiges of criminalities and needless bloodshed has just began and must be won.
He added that, ” the oxygen which fed insurgency and banditry and kept them alive in every part of the country where they now incubate and thrive must be totally checked and dealt with in order to make the country safe and habitable for our people to live in peace and prosperity”.
He said, the Governor and people of Kebbi state identify and share in the grief of the government and people of Borno state in their hour of these irresponsible losses and sorrow.
