Men of the Katsina State police command have arrested a suspected fraudster who specialized in circulation of counterfeit currencies of different countries.
A statement on Tuesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, said that 25 years old Sanusi Ahmed was arrested on May 8, 2025, at his residence, based on credible information.
According to the police, “upon conducting a thorough search of the suspect’s residence, the following exhibits were recovered: 345 pieces of counterfeit 100 USD denomination, five pieces of counterfeit 10,000 CFA, two bottles containing suspected criminal charms, one empty bottle of perfume, and one piece of white cloth.
“The suspect is currently in custody as the investigation proceeds with a view to identifying and arresting his accomplice(s).
“The Commissioner of Police, Katsina State Command, CP Bello Shehu, commends the efforts of the operatives and the public for their continued support and cooperation in the ongoing fight against all forms of crime and criminality.
“He further reaffirms the commitment of the command towards ensuring the safety and security of the people of Katsina State.”
