Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has sworn in seven new Commissioners and 12 Advisers, assigning them various portfolios following a cabinet reshuffle that relieved some former members of their positions.
The ceremony, held at the Government House on Monday, saw the governor urge the new appointees to be dedicated and committed to achieving the government’s objectives.
Governor Yusuf highlighted that the appointments were made carefully to ensure capable individuals were selected to contribute to good governance. He reiterated his administration’s commitment to addressing the challenges facing the state.
The new Commissioners and their portfolios include:
- Ibrahim Waiya: Commissioner for Information
- Shehu Wada Sagagi: Commissioner for Investment, Commerce, and Industries
- Ismail Aliyu Danmaraya: Commissioner for Finance
- Shehu Sani: Commissioner for Power and Sustainable Energy
- Dahiru Hashimu: Commissioner for Environment
- Abdulkadir Abdulsalam: Commissioner for Rural Development
- Wada Ma’aji: Commissioner for Public Procurement
