Former governor of Abia, Senator Orji Kalu and Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara have congratulated former president, Muhammadu Buhari on his 81st birth anniversary.
Kalu, in a statement he issued in Abakaliki, yesterday, described the former president as a selfless and a patriotic statesman, who has passion for nation-building .
The Chairman, Senate Committee on Privatisation added that Buhari had contributed immensely to the country’s development.
“Buhari’s humility and patriotism are remarkable as he has served the country meritoriously in various capacities of the military and civilian regimes.
“I, on behalf of the people of Abia North Senatorial district, congratulate Buhari on the occasion of his 81st birthday.
“The former President is an accomplished Nigerian who is known for his integrity, simplicity and patriotism; in and out of office,” he said .
Kalu, Dan Baiwan of Daura, Katsina, remarked that the former president’s leadership qualities and disposition to life are worthy of emulation.
“I pray for longer life for the former president,” he said.
Governor AbdulRazaq, in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mallam Rafiu Ajakaye, described Buhari as a leader with many outstanding accomplishments.
AbdulRazaq said the the former president symbolised humility, grit, calm, and patriotism.
“He will be remembered for his giant strides in infrastructural transformation of Nigeria and his trail-blazing investments in retooling the Nigerian security architecture, especially the military.”
The governor said that Buhari’s strategic patience helped to stabilise the country at some very critical moments of its history.
“The Governor asks Allah to grant former President long life in good health and happiness.
“I joins his family, friends, associates, leaders and members of the ruling All Progressives Congress to celebrate the former leader, he said.
