The Kaduna State Police Command announced on Wednesday the discovery of an illegal factory producing adulterated soya bean oil in Maraban Jos, Igabi Local Government Area.

According to a statement by Police Public Relations Officer DSP Mansir Hassan, a State Intelligence Department (SID) team, led by SP Sani Bello, acted on intelligence and raided a fenced plot along Mamadi Road. Three suspects—Zailani Shuaibu (33, factory owner), Nasiru Usman (24), and Salisu Usman (49), all Maraban Jos residents—were arrested.

The raid recovered two drums of croops (suspected raw materials), fifteen 25-litre jerry cans of unfinished product, two 25-litre jerry cans of finished adulterated soya bean oil, and one empty drum used for processing.

“The case is currently under investigation at the SID Headquarters in Kaduna,” Hassan stated.

Commissioner of Police CP Rabiu Muhammad reiterated the command’s commitment to public health, urging citizens to report suspicious activities. “Members of the public are encouraged to remain vigilant,” the statement added.
