Kaduna State Police Command has arrested 25 suspected armed robbers, kidnappers, cultists and child traffickers. It rescued seven victims and recovered 448 arms and ammunition on the Kaduna-Zaria highway, Kaduna end.
Commissioner of Police, Mr Musa Yusuf Garba, said: “These ‘ember’ months, the command smoked out bandits out of their hideouts. Police operatives rescued five kidnapped victims, killed four bandits and injured others at Unguwan Dankali, Zaira Local Government.
“Police recovered 448 rounds of 7.62x 39mm live ammunition along Kaduna-Zaria highway purchased from Awe, Nasarawa State. Two suspects were arrested.
“Operatives attached to Zaria Area Command mobilised to the scene, rescued four children and arrested two suspects. Operatives at Divisional Headquarters, Sabon-Gari, Zaria, arrested two suspects. They recovered from their vehicle, AK47 rifles with 15 rounds of 7.62x 29mm live ammunition and a pair of vehicle registration plate HK 578AA. Other suspects are still at large.
“Operatives at the Divisional Headquarters, Afaka, arrested two suspected kidnappers who had gone for ritual in an hotel. The suspects confessed they lured the victims to the hotel at Mando, Kaduna, for money ritual. Police rescued the victims and recovered machetes, facemask, a glass of liquid induced illicit substance and two empty bottles.
“Operatives attached to Divisional Headquarters, Ikara, Kaduna, on routine patrol between Ikara and Sayasaya village responded to an unusual suspicious movement in a nearby farm. They rescued four victims, all of Gedage village, Kubau local Government Kaduna. Their had arranged with the victims’ families for N11 million ransom to be delivered at the farm before the police operatives arrived and rescued them.
“Police operatives raided hideouts of bandits on the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway. We will maintain constant patrol on the expressway.
