Super Eagles ace, Ademola Lookman is set to leave Atalanta this summer, with Juventus and Napoli emerging as his primary suitors.
The 27-year-old, who is a product of Charlton’s youth academy, has played for several clubs, including Everton, Fulham, Leicester, and RB Leipzig, before joining Atalanta in the summer of 2022.
Lookman has made a significant impact at the Gewiss Stadium, scoring 52 goals and providing 25 assists in 117 appearances for La Dea. His remarkable hat-trick in last season’s Europa League final marked Atalanta’s first-ever European trophy, securing his place in the club’s history.
However, Sunday’s match against Parma may be Lookman’s final game in Bergamo. Despite his strong performances, a mid-season dispute with manager, Gian Piero Gasperini marred what could have been an exceptional season. According to journalist Matteo Moretto, Lookman is now poised to leave Atalanta, drawing interest from various European clubs.
While he has been linked with a move to Arsenal, Moretto emphasizes that Juventus and Napoli are currently the frontrunners for his signature. “Lookman will leave Atalanta,” Moretto confirmed via IlBianconero. “There have been recent rumors about a transfer to Arsenal, though these remain unconfirmed, considering his age and playing style. The player has been offered to numerous teams in Europe, but Juventus and Napoli are the most interested.”
