• Celebrates democratic dividends in Bauchi State

Bauchi State Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has expressed that democracy is not just about elections, but about delivering tangible dividends that uplift the lives of citizens.

Mohammed, who holds the traditional title of Kauran Daular Usmaniyya, made the remark on Nigeria’s Democracy Day on Thursday, June 12, 2025.

The Executive Governor of Bauchi State extended his felicitations to the good people of the State and all Nigerians on the occasion of the country’s 26 years of unbroken democracy.

According to a press release signed and issued by Muktar Gidado, his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Governor Bala Mohammed joins the rest of the country in celebrating 26 years of unbroken democratic governance in Nigeria.

The release said that the governor acknowledges the sacrifices of heroes past and the collective determination of the Nigerian people to uphold the tenets of freedom, justice, and accountable leadership.

“Democracy Day, marked as a public holiday by Nigerians, serves as a solemn reminder of the nation’s collective journey toward democratic governance, civil liberties, and the rule of law. It also honours the sacrifices of those who stood firm in the face of oppression and paid the ultimate price in the struggle for democratic freedom,” the governor was quoted as saying.

He acknowledges the contributions of past and present leaders, civil society actors, and ordinary citizens who have played pivotal roles in deepening the democratic culture in our country.
