Join The Cast Initiative, the CSR arm of media firm 3ra’fique, has vowed to promote unity through football, stating it would awaken government plans in ensuring citizens comfort.
This assertion was made by the founder, Join The Cast Initiative, Irabor Okosun, during the World Health Day celebration which took place April 6 at the Campus Mini Stadium, Lagos Island.
Irabor, whose initiative also mark the day with a novelty football match involving media personalities, comedians and Local Government staffs, went extra mile by staging a free medical testing, treatment and counseling to spectators and guests.
The tests includes malaria, blood sugar, cholesterol, hepatitis, body mass index, H.I.V, dental and mental health and lots more.
Speaking on secrets behind his project, Irabor disclosed giving back to the society has been his calling. He further highlighted more programmes are in offings ahead of World Malaria Day, Children’s Day and other designated days. He however hinted he won’t relent in inviting celebrities and soccer enthusiasts to come dazzle in commemoration of the special days.
“I’ll always involve football in my programmes because I noticed it unite us as Nigerians. Celebrating a thing like this has always been my calling. This isn’t the first and it won’t be the last. With this initiative, I’ve been able to unite lots of citizens together and I’m happy the society is aware of this. All we need as Nigerians is to be united and there’s no way we can achieve this without the game of football.
“ Today’s World Health Day is also important to be marked and that’s the reason why I staged a free medical testing, treatment and counseling and I hope it goes a long way. We’ll also be partnering with more government and private sector who believes in our dream and mission towards making the society a conducive environment for all to stay. Although the challenges have been tasking looking at the economy situation of things but we have no choice than to keep moving. Let me also assure you this is a tip of iceberg compare to what we have in plans ahead of the World Malaria Day, Children Day and lots more.
As you can see, everyone is happy and i feel glad we’re looking forward to do more,” he assured.
