JMG Limited, a provider of electro-mechanical solutions, at the weekend, deepened awareness on engineering solutions for sustainable development, including renewable energy innovations such as solar power.
At an event tagged “Solar Appreciation Day” which was held with a road walk aimed at creating awareness on the benefits inherent in renewable energy, JMG reaffirmed its commitment to driving energy efficiency, infrastructure development, and technological advancements that align with global sustainability goals.
Speaking on the initiative, Group General Manager, Rabi Jammal, said that the road walk underscores JMG’s continuous dedication to engineering excellence, clean energy adoption, and sustainable infrastructure development.
Jammal lamented the growing number of homes that are still in darkness, saying the adoption of solar-friendly appliances was capable of addressing this challenge. He said the quality of JMG products is not in doubt, as they are currently in use at several companies and government houses.
He said: “As the world transitions towards cleaner and more efficient energy solutions, engineering remains the driving force behind innovation and progress. Our road walk serves as a platform to engage the public on the pivotal role of engineering in shaping a more sustainable future.
Solar energy is just one of the many solutions we champion to ensure access to affordable, reliable, and renewable power sources.
We started our journey in 1998, and since then, we have evolved to provide solar solutions to places where people can work. It is about partnering with the right set of people to achieve our vision, and that has inspired us to become a global leader in the industry.
The walk is also a way to build relationships with our customers, and I’m glad we have pushed that with some of the flagship projects we just did.
Our aim is also to build a sustainable future for our children and for the community. The value of our solar systems in Nigeria is limitless, especially in the northern part of the country. We have unlocked lots of potential by creating awareness and making people understand the importance of solar. It’s by communicating and reiterating the benefits of our products,” he stated.
Also speaking, Product Manager, Hybrid Power System, Raymond Nwose, emphasized the importance of proffering solutions to homes struggling with inadequate power supply.
“As we speak, we want to ensure that every household has a clean, balanced energy solution for their homes and businesses because here in Nigeria, we are not there yet in terms of 24-hour power availability, and our aim is to close the gap.
We want Nigerians to understand that they cannot stay in darkness because a dark environment is not friendly to the mind. We all know that every business needs power to thrive, hence the reason behind this initiative.”
Participants at the walk included JMG employees, the media, industry stakeholders, and sustainability advocates.
JMG’s advocacy for renewable energy and engineering-led development is evident in its extensive portfolio. Since 2018, the company has expanded its offerings to include inverters, batteries, and alternative power solutions.
In 2024, JMG reinforced its leadership in Nigeria’s renewable energy market with LONGi solar panels, Deye lithium batteries, and Must solar inverters, providing customers with innovative and efficient energy alternatives.
Beyond energy, JMG continues to contribute to sustainable cities and communities by leveraging engineering innovations to develop smarter infrastructure, reduce energy waste, and promote industrial efficiency. These efforts align with the company’s broader commitment to SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities).
