The Jigawa State Sports Council has announced the postponement of its much-anticipated Administration Course, originally scheduled to hold from April 22 to April 26, 2025, at the Manpower Development Institute in Dutse.
The course, now rescheduled for June 8 to June 13, 2025, was deferred due to the ongoing industrial action by the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), a key component of the aviation industry. The strike has led to the suspension of airline services, hindering the travel plans of several experts and participants expected at the programme.
The training, organized in collaboration with the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC), is designed to provide foundational knowledge in sports administration. It targets elected officials, paid NOC staff, National Federations (NFs), club managers, physical education teachers, and sports journalists.
Announcing the new dates, project coordinator Mrs. Deborah Chidiobi said the decision followed consultations with NOC management to ensure full participation and program effectiveness.
