The Jigawa State Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (JICCIMA), has elected a 16-man new executive committee to run its affairs for the next two years.
Those elected were: Alhaji Shehu Sunusi of the Himma Plastic Company as President and Alhaji Muhammad Muktar as Deputy President I.
Others are: Alhaji Yahaya Ibrahim as Deputy President II, Alhaji Yakubu Gwari as Treasurer, Alhaji Sadik Alhaji as Assistant Treasurer, Alhaji Awwal Garba as Deputy Chairman (Commerce), Mr Baffa Alhassan as Deputy President (Legal Matters) and Alhaji Bello Jibril as Deputy President (Agriculture).
Also elected were: Alhaji Umar Audu, Deputy Chairman (Mining), Malam Maigari Rabi’u as Deputy Chairman (Publicity), Alhaji Mamuda Maigari as Deputy President (Industries), Alhaji Sanjuwa Gumel as Deputy President (Housing), Alhaji Sa’adu Masanawa as Deputy President (Corporate Affairs).
Others include: Kabir Ado, as Deputy President (Tourism), Alhaji Ibrahim Alfa, as Financial Secretary, Alhaji Yahaya Tanko, as Assistant Financial Secretary and Hajiya Mairo Yusif as an Ex-Officio member.
In his post-election speech, the newly-elected President of the Chamber, Alhaji Shehu Sunusi, expressed appreciation to the members for electing them and pledged to justify the confidence reposed in them.
Sunusi stressed the need for all hands to be on deck toward promoting commercial activities from the grassroots and thanked the national executive body of the chamber for ensuring a peaceful conduct of the election.
Also speaking at the occasion, the National Vice Chairman of the Chamber, Mr Rabi’u Ahmad, who also announced the results, charged the newly-elected members to live up to expectation.
According to him, the newly-elected executives would be sworn-in on May 24.
All the 16 positions contested for, had their candidates returned unopposed. (NAN)
