Fast rising hip-hop artiste, Jeriq recently organised a musical concert in his hometown of Enugu, Enugu State.
Tagged: ‘Jeriq Hood’, the show attracted over 15,000 fans who thronged Okpara Square where the 24-year-old performer delivered a high-energy trap music in his native language, Igbo and pidgin.
Jeriq Hood unfolded like a journey through the hip-hop galaxy, featuring talents like Yaga, Tush, Aguero Banks, Wizard Chan, DJ Boiler, MC Lord L and more. Jeriq’s strategic introductions of international artistes like Knucks from the UK, Ok-Effect, and Leczy from South Africa gave colour to the show.
From DJ Sixty’s opening beats to the explosive performances by Apete, Swissbanc and Mendoo, the night was indeed a non-stop thrill.
On his part, Jeriq engaged the enthusiastic crowd with his infectious confidence and showmanship. He, alongside guest performers, consisting of artistes, dancers, and skateboard stunt teams, wowed the audience to no end.
However, a major highlight of the event came when Jeriq was gifted a portrait of his mother by a young fan. Deeply moved, he donated N1 million to the artist on the spot, and later gave N300,000 each to some others.
By showcasing local talent alongside international stars, Jeriq asserted Africa’s growing influence on the youth-driven hip-hop culture. His strategic vision earned him praise for expanding the genre’s limits through creative collaboration.
Most importantly, the event cemented Jeriq as not just a rapper, but also a bold hip-hop innovator.
