The youth wing of Ohanaeze Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has lauded the South East Governors’ Forum (SEGOF), led by Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, for constituting a broad-based committee to give the late president general of the apex Igbo socio-cultural body, Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, a befitting funeral.

They described Iwuanyanwu as an iconic leader who greatly impacted the lives of the youths across Nigeria, particularly the Igbo.

A statement by the National Publicity Secretary, Chika Adiele, disclosed as part of the burial activities, Ohanaeze youths would, in liaison with other stakeholders, dedicate a date to celebrate the life and times of the fallen Igbo leader.

“We are, indeed, hopeful the national burial committee, which has names of very respected eminent Igbo sons and daughters, will work harmoniously with the South East governors, ably led by Governor Uzodimma, the Iwuanyanwu family and other relevant stakeholders, both at home and in diaspora, to ensure we give our dear departed leader a national burial.

“Iwuanyanwu, was a multi-dimensional elder statesman and an extraordinary humanist, who, in his lifetime, touched many lives in unprecedented and diverse ways, especially the youths.

“Ahaejiagamba Ndigbo, bestrode our landscape like a Colossus and brought his finesse and managerial capacity to bear on his short, but most eventful and promising tenure as president general of Ohanaeze Ndigbo.

“His death has created a vacuum too hard to fill, however, we shall take solace in the fact that the genius lived a fulfilled and an accomplished life before his departure; worthy of note is that Ahaejiagamba Ndigbo was a loving father and a beacon of light to us,” Adiele said.
