As a paragon of elegance, wisdom, and strength, Lola —as she’s fondly called by friends and associates— has impacted society in her own way. She is ever willing to give her shoulders to anyone to lean on in a moment of need. Indeed, those whose paths have crossed hers always affirm that the Lagos State-born United States-based entrepreneur sure understands the true meaning of friendship. She has made huge sacrifices, at different times, to keep the sanctity of friendship humanly possible. For the beautiful Yeye Bobajiro of Ota-Awori Kingdom, she always reflected on her remarkable journey, defined by meaningful milestones, challenges overcome, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. When she reached a milestone age of 60 on this earth on Monday 2 September, Lola was celebrated by scores of friends and families —both in Nigeria, United States, Canada and Europe— who all revered her life of impact.
Turning 60 surely needs flamboyant fête and Lola definitely deserves a grand festivity to celebrate reaching that significant milestone. The momentous occasion would have further highlighted her personal journey and echoed her indelible impact on the lives of all who know her. But Lola chose to celebrate the day she stepped into the sixth floor with a thanksgiving service and a very exclusive fete attended by a select gathering of friends and family members at the exquisite Ashyana Banquets in Downer Grove, Chicago, Illinois. And as the moon shone brightly on the joyous gathering, Lola, a radiant and graceful mother of two stood at the centre, basking in the warmth of a lifetime of love, laughter and legacy.
