Resident Electoral Commissioner, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Plateau State, Husseini Halilu Pai has put to hold the announcement of election results for Bassa/Jos North Federal Constituency and Plateau North Senatorial Elections following protest over cancellation of Tudun-Wada/Kabong Federal Ward results.

He said political party’s stakeholders, security and INEC officials have agreed to meet on Tuesday to resolve all contending issues before the results are release.

Pai disclosed this on Monday after an extensive meeting with security agencies and party officials at the INEC Headquarters Jos, Plateau State.

“We held a meeting with political parties stakeholders and security agencies to reslove the problem that emanated from Jos North Local Government Area. Elections Result was cancelled in Tudun-Wada/ Kabong Federal Ward which brought disagreement between the two parties.

“We will meet on Tuesday by 10am at the Jos North collation centre to look at the results from each polling unit to resolve the problem the the result would be announced.”

Meanwhile the Senatorial and National Assembly Elections have been declared inconclusive in Plateau South Senatorial District of Plateau State.

INEC Voter Education and Publicity, Mr. Osaratin Imahiyereobo confirmed this yesterday in Jos and said INEC is on top of the situation.

He said the Elections result for Plateau Central Senatorial District has not been declared due to some unforeseen circumstances.

Daily Sun gathered that there is tension in Plateau Central over cancellation of some results which the two leading political parties, APC and PDP are protesting.
