Some captains of industries gathered in Lagos days ago to launch a book meant to extend the frontiers of management in the country.

The book “Performance in Management: An African Masquerade perspective,” was authored by Mr Babatune Oyafemi, a marriage counselor and management trainer with over three decades of hands-on experience in the latter to his credit, was presented to a receptive audience at Ikeja Airport Hotel, Awolowo Rd, Lagos.

On hand to receive the book as chairman was Dr B.O. Makanjuola, former Chairman of Vitafoam Nigeria Plc, while the special guest was Elder Segun Mojeed, the president of Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) as well as Segun Obayendo, the President, Chartered Institute of Transport.  Also present were Mrs Odediran, Col Odediran, Dr Ogunfemi, Engr Oyafemi, Mrs Bakare and a host of others.

Reviewer of the book, Dr Oluwole Ogunyemi, of the Lagos State University of Science and Technology, Ikorodu, said: “The book has opened a new line of thought to the discussion of performance management throughout the world with African tradition as underlying philosophy.”

The chairman of the occasion, Dr Makanjuola, thanked the author for adding new a perspective to performance management, and hoped the book would make the desire impact in the lives of those who would read it going forward.

The author, Mr Oyafemi, a life coach, said the book was targeting academic in various higher institutions, performance managers in the private sector and students of Human Resource and industrial management across the country.
