The All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate in the just Imo State governorship election held on November 11, 2023 Hope Uzodinma is in a commanding lead as collation of results continues in the state.
Already the incumbent governor has won 20 of the 27 Local Government Areas in the state, with the Labour Party and People’s Democratic Party candidates trailing behind.

Uzodimma has got a total of 429, 518 votes across the 20 LGAs so far announced by the electoral umpire.

These are Oru West, Owerri North, Obowo, Nwangele, Orsu, Owerri Municipal, Okigwe, Ideato South, Onuimo, Ngor Okpala, Oru East, Isu, Nkwere, Ahiazu Mbaise, Owerri West, Isiala Mbano, Ezinihitte Mbaise, Oguta, Aboh Mbaise and Njaba.

Earlier the Labour Party representatives in the collation centre had rejected the process, insisted that in some places where results were being announced, there was no election.
