After spending over two weeks in the den of his abductors, former Imo State Chairman of Council of Traditional rulers,and traditional ruler of Orodo autonomous community, Samuel Ohiri has finally regained his freedom.
His news of his release was broken by the State police spokesperson, Henry Okoye on Thursday.
According to Okoye,the police in synergy with other security agencies rescued the popular traditional ruler in a forest where he was being kept by his abductors.
The police spokesperson also disclosed that some arrest were made in connection to the abduction.
He said “Recall the Command has been working assiduously in synergy with other security agencies towards ensuring that Eze Ohiri is released and some arrest have been made.
“To the glory of God he has been released, after a hot chased on the kidnappers at the forest by operatives of the Command’s Anti kidnapping unit.
“The Command will continue to work towards stamping out all forms of violent crimes in the State”. Okoye stated.
