Winnerman Utomi may not be a familiar name to many people, but he is the Executive Producer of the highly anticipated action-packed thriller, “Issakaba Returns”.

This is his first ever movie project, and it will definitely launch him into the mainstream movie world when it hits cinemas in the coming months.

Before venturing into filmmaking, Utomi was a serial entrepreneur with interests in various sectors of the economy.

He imported and distributed electronic gadgets, cars, and had interests in the agricultural sector as well as real estate.

Inspired by the urge to tell real African stories to the rest of the world, Utomi struck a deal with popular film director, Lancelot Imasuen to remake the iconic “Issakaba.”

According to him, for the average Nigerian, the bulk of what they know about America is through their movies. Therefore, there is a need to share with the world authentic and unique African stories, people, and rich diverse culture and traditions. Every African is a ‘walking story’, and this birthed L.I.A.M studios which stands for “Life is a Movie.”

Talking about his mentors in Nollywood, Utomi mentioned Lancelot Imasuen and veteran actor Sam Dede as his biggest mentors, adding: “I draw inspiration from people who have mastered their crafts.”

“Tyler Perry also inspires me. He is a complete artist and he understands the business of filmmaking,’ Utomi noted.
