The former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, has expressed commitment to the national unity and successful mediation between northern and southern food transporters to prevent a major crisis in the country.
He spoke against the backdrop of allegations that he was the sponsor of #EndbadgovernanceinNigerian protest, saying those circulating the information were not telling Nigerians the truth.
In a statement by The Yahaya Bello Media Office, he alleged that there were certain persons whose aim was to tarnish his image and orchestrate a campaign to label him a sponsor of the nationwide demonstration.
The statement signed by Ohiare Michael also highlighted Bello’s role in challenging the naira redesign policy and his support for President Bola Tinubu in the 2023 presidential elections.
Further, the statement accused enemies of the former governor of linking him to criminal interests and warned the public against believing the claims. It called for a thorough investigation by the Police, Department of State Services, and other relevant agencies to address the allegations.
The office reiterated Bello’s dedication to supporting President Tinubu’s administration and maintaining Nigeria’s democratic integrity. It urged the public to disregard the falsehoods and support Tinubu’s efforts to restore national greatness.
The statement affirmed confidence in Nigeria’s security agencies to handle the matter effectively and affirming Bello’s commitment to the country’s progress and stability.
