A House of Representatives Member-elect for Gada/Goronyo Federal Constituency, Bashir Usman Gorau, has pledged to justify his electoral victory by entrenching good good governance in his constituency.

He explained that part of his initiatives would be to push for a review of the National Youth Serve Corps Act, which he said has not helped in ameliorating the sufferings of graduates despite billions of naira spent.

Gorau, who spoke to reporters in Abuja, said: “Of course, the are my immediate people and they are expecting that feedback.

“They have voted for me as a member representing Gada/Goronyo federal constituency which I have been doing, constructing hospitals, renovating roads, schools and assisting the venerable people.

“It has been my activity and will continue to build up and nothing will stop us from doing that.

“We can possibly push forward to see the progress of Nigerian youths across the country.

“This NYSC Act, I have it in mind that when I am finally sworn into the national assembly, I will make sure that we will have a review to that Act because a lot of money is being spent and that money does not impact the lives of Nigerian youths.

“We are going to push for the review of that Act and to make that the resources spent there are adequately utilized to Nigerian youth and more importantly as a young person, I have a very strong passion for sport and youth empowerment.

“If you look at it critically, government activity and government programs Nigerian youths are being neglected.”

He claimed that the almost 8 years of President Mohammadu Buhari’s government, not much had been achieved in terms of youth empowerment.

“We need to look into it even if it warrant appealing to the President elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu we are going to do that and make sure that empowerment of Nigerian youths is put in place,” he said.
